Weird Object is a spoken word performance that gets mediated through an app. The performance consists of Lucas reading a monologue with a moody arc about a fictional object, written out of aggregate data sourced from online customer product reviews.

The app was programmed to resemble a speed reading experiment and is read off a laptop or an android phone. A lapse occurs between the moving text and speech, heightening the anxiety and humor in the narrative.

The text originally published in a small book as a part of a Publication Studio Micro Residency with Eyebeam for a print-on-demand platform.

Programmed as a side loading app for an Android tablet with Processing.
