Mama’s Kittens

On May 27 and June 4, 2023, I performed as Mamas Kittens at All the Sudden for the group exhibition Tails, curated by Henry Smith, Rachael Starbuck and Michael Muelhaupt. A second performance took place as a part of Interference Festival in February 2024.

I perform a set of songs, originally sung to cats and kittens that I cared for over the pandemic, adapted for a human audience.

The original songs were improvised to create a familiar pattern of communication to ease their anxieties. The music was composed by musician and visual artist kerry maguire.

The landlord has since sold the house and it was demolished.

Mamas Kittens has ongoing projects in Augmented Reality, music videos, ephemera, and a forthcoming exhibition.
